Research
Each fellow completes three deliverables over the course of the year: a first-author manuscript, a surgical technique guide or video, and a patient education handout.
- 1
First-author manuscript
A substantive research project — often building on an existing project — submitted to a peer-reviewed journal, with a target of submission by July.
- 2
Surgical technique guide or video
A technique piece developed with a supervising attending, aimed at a publication such as a surgical technique journal or video platform.
- 3
Patient education handout
A patient-facing handout on a shoulder or elbow topic, reviewed with faculty.
Research support
A dedicated team of research assistants and a monthly research meeting help fellows take projects from idea to completion.
